Three teens hurt in crash

Three teens were injured in a serious accident at this intersection.

THREE teenagers were taken to hospital after a serious vehicle collision in Panania last Saturday afternoon.

About 2.50pm, a Ford Falcon was being driven in a westerly direction along Tompson Road, Panania, when it collided with another car at the intersection of Victor Avenue.
The Ford mounted the gutter and hit a tree. The tree snapped at the base and landed on the roof of the Ford as it came to rest nearby.
Emergency services were called to the scene and paramedics treated the 18-year-old driver of the Ford for serious spinal and pelvic injuries. He was transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Two passengers were also treated at the scene for their injuries. A 19-year-old woman suffered a dislocated and fractured wrist while an 18-year-old woman was treated for soft tissue injuries. Both were taken hospital.
The 67-year-old driver of the other vehicle and his passenger, a 24-year-old man, were both uninjured.
The older man was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
The Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended and seized the Ford for further mechanical examination.
Police inquiries continue.
